چکیده
we devised a new visual illusion with an evolutionary theme. Figure 1 shows two monkeys. To see the illusion, stare at the centre of the picture for about 30 s without moving your eyes. Next, look to a white wall and blink a few times. The monkeys should suddenly transform into a perfect portrait of Darwin. Figure 1. The Darwin Illusion: Adaptation diversifies primate species.

Experimental Study on the Effect of monitor height on Eye Indices Influencing Eye Discomfort among VDT Workers
Introduction: Nowadays, excessive computer use in the workplace has raised concerns about the health status of VDT workers, particularly complaints about eye discomforts. Due to the importance of the eyelids and eye closure parameters on eye health during computer works and the direct effect of monitor height on these parameters, this study was aimed to examine the effect of different monitor h...
متن کاملA Fast, Robust, Automatic Blink Detector
Introduction “Blink” is defined as closing and opening of the eyes in a small duration of time. In this study, we aimed to introduce a fast, robust, vision-based approach for blink detection. Materials and Methods This approach consists of two steps. In the first step, the subject’s face is localized every second and with the first blink, the system detects the eye’s location and creates an ope...
متن کاملMicrosaccades and blinks trigger illusory rotation in the "rotating snakes" illusion.
Certain repetitive arrangements of luminance gradients elicit the perception of strong illusory motion. Among them, the "Rotating Snakes Illusion" has generated a large amount of interest in the visual neurosciences, as well as in the public. Prior evidence indicates that the Rotating Snakes illusion depends critically on eye movements, yet the specific eye movement types involved and their ass...
